Julia Powers Davis, MSW, MDiv., LCSW
Julia (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina, providing psychotherapy with adults and older teens (generally 16+). She has a Bachelor’s from the College of William & Mary and a dual M.Div./MSW from Duke Divinity School and UNC-Chapel Hill School of Social Work. Julia has experience supporting people in a variety of settings including outpatient, inpatient, and community-based mental health care as well as faith communities and nonprofit organizations.
In therapy, Julia enjoys working with a variety of topics: anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, OCD, ADHD, chronic illness, identity, relationships, work/career, eating & body image concerns, and spiritual/religious concerns. In particular, Julia has experience supporting women and LGBTQ+ folks, college students and young adults, clergy and faith leaders, as well as other therapists and helpers. Her therapeutic style takes an integrative, person-centered approach prioritizing the therapeutic relationship while drawing on elements of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), and narrative therapy, as well as principles of Intuitive Eating and Health At Every Size (HAES) when working with eating & body image concerns. Above all, she hopes to provide an affirming, nonjudgmental space to practice shifts from being hard on ourselves toward being kind to ourselves, developing habits of self-care and self-compassion. Outside of therapy, Julia likes poetry, standup comedy, and spending time with her spouse and dog.

Therapist // Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Carmelia Ward, MSW, LCSW
Carmelia Ward is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina who works with adolescents (middle school and up), young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, relationship challenges, and life's many transitions. She has a special passion for supporting professionals, parents, caregivers, and people who are used to being the strong one for everyone else. Many of her clients appear to have it all together on the outside while quietly struggling with stress, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or the lasting effects of difficult life experiences. Carmelia believes therapy should be a place where you don't have to perform, pretend, or carry everything alone.
Her approach is trauma-informed, person-centered, collaborative, and grounded in mindfulness and nervous system awareness. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, Carmelia takes time to understand the whole person, including your experiences, relationships, identity, strengths, and values. She creates a space where clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted so they can slow down, reconnect with themselves, and build practical tools for navigating life's challenges with greater confidence, emotional awareness, self-compassion, and resilience. She integrates evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, ACT, somatic interventions, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and culturally responsive care to support meaningful, lasting growth.
Before she is a therapist, Carmelia is a person who deeply values authenticity, connection, and meeting people exactly where they are. She understands that reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable, and she considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they navigate healing, discover new ways of caring for themselves, and move toward a life that feels more grounded, intentional, and whole. Her hope is that every client leaves therapy feeling a little lighter, a little more connected to themselves, and reassured that they don't have to do it alone.
