Who We Are

The mission of The Well Mental and Spiritual Care is to create pathways toward healing and wholeness in the community by offering accessible and affordable mental and spiritual care.

Our Values

  • We believe access to mental health care is a human right. Everyone deserves to seek the healing they need. And so many of us are in need of healing: mentally, emotionally, spiritually.

  • Quality care can be challenging to find. We are working to remove barriers and stigmas and increase access to care.

  • There is so much injustice perpetuated in our society, particularly when it comes to mental health. We stand in solidarity with those who are on the margins and work to offer healing for those whose identities have been oppressed: particularly members of the BILPOC, AAPI, and LGBTQ+ communities.

  • Finding a place to belong is an essential part of a healthy and whole life. The Well creates space for self-understanding and belonging in the community.

Where We Are

Our practice is located in the heart of Raleigh. The Well is housed at Edenton Street United Methodist Church, one of our primary partners in this work. Our hope is to continually engage with other partners in the downtown community in order to collaboratively work to increase access to mental and spiritual care.

Our History

All the best things in life are born out of friendship. The Well is a dream that was incubated in friendship. In the spring of 2021, Amanda and Elizabeth had a middle-of-the-night conversation about how to become partners in offering mental and spiritual care in the community. Several years of planning and dreaming later and The Well Mental and Spiritual Care was born in the summer of 2023.
