Heart, Soul, Mind, & Strength: A Community Class with The Well at Macedonia UMC
What: Join us for a class designed to introduce an important conversation about the intersections of faith and mental health. Historically, the Christian Church has not always entertained questions or concerns about mental health. This is part of a larger, enduring stigma in our culture about mental illness and the care needed to move toward healing. The Well exists to not only create pathways toward healing and wholeness in the community but also to reduce stigma and offer a vision for a healthy theology and practice of mental health in every church.
Rev. Amanda Rigby and Dr. Elizabeth Watters will lead us as we dive into Scripture, reason, tradition, and experience to help us form a foundation of understanding about the importance of valuing mental health in faith communities. This theological foundation will become a seedbed for growth and potential as we dream about the fruit of partnering with mental and spiritual care practitioners.
When: Monday, August 17th from 6-7:30 PM
at Macedonia UMC - 2700 Jones Franklin Rd., Cary, NC 27518
